The Unterpferd is a very small breed of horse used by Deep Gnomes and other races which dwell deep below the earth to move heavy loads or caravan from one distant cavern to another. They are small, shaggy, stout ponies that have very acute senses as they would need for traveling deep underground. In the "wild" they subsist on lichens and mushrooms and rely on deep pools of water to drink. They naturally avoid Drow, but all other races from the depths can use them. Their short, stocky legs makes them poor mounts. If confronted and forced to defend themselves they can strike with two hard hooves for 1-6 damage each kick.
