The Ki-Naga is a rare type of Naga, and may indeed be the result of
inter-mating between Naga and Human or Demihumans. Unfortunately, the
offspring of such pairings very closely resembles the dreaded Yuan-Ti to
such an extent that only by getting close enough (within 30') to observe
the Ki-Naga can any difference be told.
The chief difference between the Ki-Naga and it's namesake parent is that
the Ki-naga has the torso of a human (always female) and the lower body is
serpentine. The Ki-Naga takes on the mantle that it's forebear does, and
guards valuable treasures; it is usually found guarding a large horde of
treasure (Type A), or a single but very powerful magical artifact.
The Ki-Naga is capable of wielding two weapons simultaneously with no
penalty; it prefers scimitars, although it can use a bow effectively as
well. The Ki-Naga is also magically imbued with a powerful song that acts
as a Sleep spell (q.v.). If the area the Ki-Naga is watching over is
inadvertently approached by unknowing persons, the Ki-Naga will usually
hide (as a 7th level Thief) and use her powerful song ability to cause
those who have stumbled on to her charge to fall into a deep slumber. She
then moves those effected as far away as she dares to go. Those who
persist in returning will receive a stern warning, and further intrusion
will be met with an attack.
