Alright. I said elsewhere (while DD was pimping Z1 around) that, though I'm a bit busy at the moment, my schedule will gradually clear itself, allowing to potentially participate in this project.

I was thinking for instance of coming up with an entrance to the dungeons, like an inn linking to some underground grottos and river or some such. I'm sure multiple points of entrance would exist for such a large complex of dungeons, so a wilderness map might become useful down the road.

I'm not a bad mapper (this is my home campaign map), so I could help in that department too.

Anyway. I like the rough concept for the dungeon, I like the idea of an open, free-access dungeon for anyone interested. This is a good, constructive idea. I hope we'll be able to go somewhere with this.
"But Orcs and Trolls spoke as they would, without love of words or things; and their language was actually more degraded and filthy than I have shown it. I do not suppose that any will wish for a closer rendering, though models are easy to find. Much the same sort of talk can still be heard among the orc-minded; dreary and repetitive with hatred and contempt, too long removed from good to retain even verbal vigour, save in the ears of those to whom only the squalid sounds strong.” - JRR Tolkien.

Two concepts come to me when I think about a collaborative dungeon.

Some writers would have fun by starting a story and passing it back and forth with a different writer from one page to another. I've felt these were always more fun to create than to actually read.

But how do we maintain some kind of balance if we add a room here or a passage there, perhaps stocked with creatures that do not quite fit, one near to the other.

How would it be if we created a dungeon that spliced dimensions together as well as authors? We could have radically different types of dungeon areas right against each other seperated by a dimensional barrier. Some barriers might keep the creatures within them trapped, or others might bleed over one into the other.

Let me know if this sounds like an idea to explore.

Good points, Jason. You'll note in the readme I do admonish contribtors to consider the environs (e..g, no ice-para elementals in the lava lake outlined by someone else), and also that there may well be multi-dimensional pathways and exits.

Sounds like you're thinking a few moves ahead, so get contributing! :D

Do that, because I was wondering where we were supposed to post our designs. :?
